I thrive working on short term projects with tight deadlines, and for this Flova Labs project I was tasked with illustrating 30 unique "Pets" that were cute and had traits inspired by real-life pets, but with a creative twist - as if they were from other planets. I was involved in the project from the ideation phase to delivery of the final assets.
Creating a collection of computer-generated NFTs is a complex process that demands a combination of creativity, technical skill, and attention to detail. During my work with Flova Labs, I had the privilege of collaborating with an experienced art director who guided me through the project and provided invaluable feedback to improve the characters I was illustrating.
Using Procreate, I sketched out initial concepts for the characters, experimenting with different shapes, poses, and expressions until I achieved what the client was looking for. Once the basic outlines were in place, I moved on to Illustrator to refine the sketches and add more intricate details. This involved carefully refining the lines and shapes of each element, such as the bodies, limbs, facial features, and accessories, to create a polished and cohesive look.
Throughout the process, I constantly tweaked and refined the details, striving to create a final product that was both visually appealing and technically sound. This involved a lot of trial and error, as well as careful consideration of the overall composition.
